Once you’ve picked the perfect place for your wedding, it’s time to order and send your Save the Dates! My fiancĂ© Trey and I spent a lot of time looking for ideas from those designed like cards and others on a single piece of paper, some have graphics and others just text. A couple fun ideas were to include engagement pictures (color or black and white) a calendar (so your guests can visualize the wedding date) or a sticker for them to mark their personal calendars with.
Whatever style you choose, it’s important to include the following items on your Save the Dates: you and your fiancĂ©’s names, your wedding date, and your wedding location. In addition to these standard items, Trey and I also chose to add a line of text stating, “formal invitation to follow,” as well as the web address for our wedding website (check out myweddinglibrary.com/sites to make one for free!). Although these items are not required they provide more information for your guests so they know to expect an invitation as the wedding date approaches. And they can stay up-to-date on your wedding plans by looking at your website. Etiquette says Save the Dates should be sent about 6 months before the big day, so get designing!
