The White Wedding Dress
In the 1900′s blue was the common color of bridal gowns, as it was the symbol of purity. In 1840, Queen Victoria married Prince Albert and wore white; the symbol of wealth. The news traveled fast and soon all women over Europe and America began wearing white dresses. Of course other colors were still worn but the trend became a glamorous white gown among those of an elevated social status.
