We chose Genoa Lakes not only for it's beauty, but for sentimental reasons for our daughter Jaime's wedding. The bride's great grandfather was born in Genoa, Italy, so it seemed fitting. Words can't express how grateful we are for the wonderful job Marie and her staff did for Jaime and Andy's wedding which was the last weekend in October. The attention to detail was phenomenal and Marie was so easy to work with. She was also very patient with all my last minute questions, which helped my stress level!


I will gladly make referrals to Genoa Lakes for anyone who asks. It was an absoltuely gorgeous venue and a fabulous experience working with the staff!

As parents of the bride, we visited numerous potential sites that would fit the requirements for a classy and spectaculor wedding celebration before deciding on Genoa Lakes Golf Club and Resort. The Genoa Lakes Venue is amazing, from the gorgerous surroundings to the top notch attention to every detail by Marie Stokes, the event coordinator. The outside lawn area for the ceremony was stunning, framed by the magnificant mountains, trees, golf course, wildlife and a running creek. The inside reception area is set in such a way that flows well with large groups and also allows for activities such as a pic box, candy buffet, DJ, slide show and bar area, not to mention the dance floor. I can't say enough about Marie's professionalism and committment to each bride and groom to ensure a memorable wedding day celebration! Thanks Marie.

From our first look at the facility, we knew it would be the perfect venue for our son's marriage to his precious bride. Marie assisted us beautifully in the planning and decorating process. We had our rehearsal luncheon at Antoci's, and the meals were delightful. But Marie's most valued expertise was experienced on the wedding day itself. She knew every nuance that would make the day perfect and her knowledge and advice allowed the wedding and reception to run flawlessly. The venue is the most beautiful I have seen locally. Many of our guests told us that this was by far the best wedding they had ever attended and I know that the facility and staff were a big part of the results --- everything we had hoped for! We are thrilled to have had Matt and Kaylen's special day at Genoa Lakes!

Our son was married at Genoa Lakes Sept. 18, 2010. I can say without any reservation, this was the most beautiful setting. Marie and her staff went above and beyond what any of us expected. The site was immaculate, the reception was perfectly organized and the food was fantastic. We also held the rehearsal dinner there and I can honestly say it was one of the best dinners we have ever had at a restaurant. The atmosphere that was set for us was 5 star!. The staff at Genoa was very professional and all were friendly and fun to work with. Thank you Genoa for making my son's wedding perfect!.

Genoa Lakes Golf Resort is outstanding for quality, service and price. Our daughter’s wedding was held there this past July, the day was perfect! Genoa Lakes played a big part in that happening. We couldn’t have been more pleased! The location is gorgeous whether inside or out. The food was outstanding, beautifully displayed and served in perfect timing to our agenda. The reception set up was a dream come true. The experienced staff is professional, friendly, warm, courteous, and genuine. As mother of the bride it was so incredible to have such capable people handling our event. It removed so much stress from my day. I truly felt like I could be a guest at our daughter’s wedding. Marie (catering director) and Carla (Marie’s assistant) are true gems of the wedding world. So easy to work with and their experience, helpfulness and attention to detail is unsurpassed. Speaking for my daughter, new son in law, my husband and myself, we truly felt our agenda and needs were the priority. From the planning, to rehearsal, to wedding, every concern addressed and every request met all with caring hearts and professionalism. Would we host our next wedding there? In a heartbeat!! My husband and I got married in April, and our reception was at the Genoa Lakes Golf Club. I have always dreamt about having my wedding the this location. The scenery that day was beautiful with snow cap mountains and the waterfall at the entrance to the course. The facility is one of a kind, and it easily held all of our guest with comfort. I worked closely with Marie through out the process of planning, and she was always there for me to put my concerns at ease. The setup for the room was perfect, and with Marie’s helpful suggestions to our vision everything was decorated just as I had hoped. Every detail was as I asked and more. I never had to worry about how things would turn out. The food was absolutely delicious from the appetizers during cocktail hour to the entrees and side dishes, not to mention the drinks. We are still hearing about how yummy the food was. The staff on hand helped run things smoothly and were very accommodating to any need. Marie worked well with our DJ and we all danced the night away. Our family and friends are still commenting to how much fun they had and how perfect the location was.

My husband and I look forward to returning on our anniversary for another delicious dinner. If I could, I would do it all over again!

My son's wedding reception was held at Genoa Lakes Golf Club. The surroundings are green and lush, with wonderful mountain views and a gorgeous waterfall that takes your wedding pictures over the top. We choose the Grand Pavilion Ballroom and had 14 tables of 10, a nicely sized dance floor, plus the usual gift table, cake table, DJ area, etc. set up in the main room. There was still enough room to visit and socialize, walk around the tables and, at one point, we actually got everyone on the dance floor! The room is elegant with a wall of windows at one end, a cathedral ceiling with skylights and beautiful chandeliers. What we liked about this venue was the buffet area and the bar are in a separate room (there are two huge double doors into this area). Your guests can enjoy sitting in a lovely room, listening to the music and enjoying the dancing without having the bar or the buffet right next to their table. The buffet was beautifully set, and with Marie's guidance, everyone was served in about 20 minutes. I had quite a few people seek me out to tell me how delicious the food was (you cannot go wrong with the Salmon Arlecchino). Our guests also loved the cocktail hour (with butler passed appetizers), while we waited for the wedding party to arrive. You MUST try the Seared Ahi tuna on wonton chips and the Honey glazed, bacon wrapped shrimp...fabulous appetizers! The bar staff was friendly, quick and suggested some wonderful drinks to try.











Marie was easy to work with, always available and answered our many, many questions promptly. She was willing to do anything we asked to make the wedding special. She reworked the configuration of the buffet tables when we realized there would be additional guests joining us. When she saw the wedding favors, she came up with a napkin fold that showed off the favors perfectly. And when the bride and I couldn't figure out how to desplay the cupcakes, cutting cake and groom's cake, Marie designed the display which looked beautiful and received many compliments. I met with Marie two days before the reception and gave her everything that would go on the tables, pictures and guest book items, place cards, gift table items...she put the room together perfectly. Every tealight, napkin and floral arrangement was exactly where it should be. My husband and I looked for a professional that would carry out our wishes correctly and let us enjoy our son's wedding day without a lot of questions or interuptions, and Marie was the person who filled that requirement. The entire reception looked beautiful, ran smoothly and, most importantly, the bride and groom, the wedding party and the guests all had a fantastic time. Sucessful parties all have great food, great drinks, beautiful surroundings and good friends in common. With Maire Stokes as your event coordinator, all you need to add are the friends!

We are so pleased we chose Genoa Lakes for our daughter's wedding reception. It was a perfect day. Marie, the director of catering, is an absolute professional. She set our minds at ease and gave us great confidence that everything would be handled professionally. During the planning process she was very accessible and responded immediately to our endless e-mails and phone calls. Marie serves as a 'day-of coordinator', which makes the day flow smoothly. She is well known and well respected by the photographers and DJs in the area and sees to it that they all coordinate for a seamless event. The Banquet Pavilion is a warm, elegant room in which to celebrate. The buffet was set up for speedy, efficient service. The food was absolutely delicious and all our guests raved about it. The service personnel were always one step ahead and very efficient. Everything about the reception was first class. The outdoor areas include meadows, mountain views, and a stunning waterfall. The picture possibilities are endless and beautiful. If I had another wedding to plan, Genoa Lakes is where I'd have it. No doubt about it.
